Veronica
Hofman Ortega featured in
Creative Quilting with Beads
Textile artist, Veronica
Hofman Ortega is featured in a new book, Creative
Quilting with Beads, published by Lark Books.
See Veronica's "Tag-Along Handbag" in this idea-packed
resource of 24 projects devoted to quilting, stitching, surface
design and creative ways to embellish with beads.
Quilters have
moved beyond the traditional boundaries of their art, embellishing
their work with layers of beads, embroidery, and other surface
embellishing techniques. Quilters, fiber artists and sewers will
be inspired by the projects as well as the gallery of beaded
fiber art that is included in the book. This book will open
up a new realm of creative potential.
Creative
Quilting with Beads is
available at Stone Light Studio.
Ms. Hofman Ortega would be pleased
to sign your copy of the book.

Light Studio Dog and Cat tote bags
to support McKamey Animal Center
Stone Light Studio will donate a percentage of the sales of select
dog- and cat-themed fabrics and tote bag kits to support the McKamey
Animal Care and Adoption Center. Finished and
embellished BFFF (Best Furry Friends
Forever) tote bags are on display at Stone Light
Studio, along with the dog, cat and coordinating fabrics. Qwazy
Eights, 6-Packs, and Triple Dip fabric
bundles are also available.
The tote
bag kits are all-inclusive—fabrics, interfacing,
batting, stabilizer, pattern and instructions. All you need
is your sewing machine and thread! Embellish as you see fit.
Cats
vs. Dogs Challenge
To spur some friendly competition, Stone Light Studio is also issuing
a “Cats vs. Dogs” Challenge to
all animal and pet enthusiasts. For each yard of dog fabric or
dog tote bag kit purchased, the Dog Team will garner a point on
the Cats vs. Dogs scoreboard.
For each yard of cat fabric or cat tote bag kit purchased, the
Cat Team will get a point.
The competition
ends June 30, 2008. On-going scores are posted in the Studio
