Stone Light Studio is an eclectic quilt shop and fiber arts studio. Our mission is to provide a creative and encouraging environment, classes, and resources for you to explore your creative side with fabric, threads, fibers, color and texture.
We offer various classes, workshops, and programs for students with all levels of experience. Lively class discussions among instructors and fellow students often provide that “ah-ha” moment when an idea clicks. We've seen class attendees learn from fellow students as well as from our class instructors.
We offer a range of products which include:
- a growing selection of 100% cotton quilting fabrics, batiks and batik panels
- yarns—including organic cotton, Seacell, bamboo, silk, wool and other fibers
- beads, charms and fiber mixes for embellishing
- silk paints, fabric paints, Shiva oil paintstiks, fabric marbling supplies
- stencils and rubbing plates
- Angelina fibers
- hand-dyed wool pieces, wool roving, wool thread, wool felt beads, needle felting supplies
- silk fabrics, scarves, and silk blanks
- prepared for dyeing (PFD) fabric
- paper embellishment packets
- books
- patterns
- work from local artists for sale—hand-dyed silk scarves, jewelry, quilt art
If you're looking for a creative environment or a change of scenery, bring your project to the Studio for an open drop-in session. You'll meet and enjoy the company of others who share similar interests.
Arts and crafts are steeped in tradition and reflective of our heritage and cultures. If you've learned how to sew, knit, crochet, quilt or learned any other craft from a grandparent, parent, or a dear friend, you know how cherished these memories are.
We believe it's also important to pass along our traditions (or create new ones!) to keep these art forms and processes alive. So, we encourage anyone willing to share a technique or craft to talk to us about developing a program. Share your passion and spread the joy!
